The Royal Thai Embassy in Lima, in collaboration with the Peruvian Muay Thai Federation and the District Municipality of Pachacamac, will organize a series of Muay Thai events which will take place in Lima, Peru, between 29 May – 1 June 2023. These events aim to promote cultural exchanges and strengthen the ties between Thailand and Peru through the thrilling sport of Muay Thai.

The highlight of the events will be the intensive Muay Thai training sessions conducted for both the National Team and the local communities in Punta Hermosa and Manchay, Pachacamac. Renowned Muay Thai Masters and Champions from Lanna Fighting Muay Thai of Thailand, namely Kru Din (Wittawat Kasom), Kru Toom (Anusorn Injai), and I-oon (Patchayaporn Kasom), will lead these training sessions, sharing their expertise and techniques with the participants.

The training sessions for the National Team will be held on 29 and 31 May 2023, providing an exclusive opportunity for the team to enhance their skills under the guidance of these experienced trainers. The sessions will focus on refining techniques and tactical strategies, aiming to elevate the National Team's performance on the international stage.

In addition, on 30 – 31 May, the training sessions will be organized for the local communities in Punta Hermosa (30 May) and Manchay, Pachacamac (31 May). These sessions are designed to introduce Muay Thai to a wider audience, especially the young children in the communities, in order to promote its benefits, such as physical fitness, discipline, and self-defense. People of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate and experience the art of Muay Thai firsthand.

Furthermore, on June 1, the trainers will also conduct a special Muay Thai self-defense training session for the Special Police Force of Peru. This session aims to equip the police force with practical self-defense techniques derived from the ancient martial art of Muay Thai. The training will focus on enhancing their skills, improving situational awareness, and promoting personal safety in their line of duty.

The aforementioned events will be cohosted by Mr. Rodrigo Jorquera, Head Coach of the National Team of Peru, who will extend a warm welcome to the Thai trainers and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and skills between the Thai and Peruvian participants. This collaboration is a testament to the commitment of both countries in fostering cultural exchanges and promoting sports diplomacy.
