Bogota (Sep. 12/19). President Iván Duque received the credentials that formalize the appointment of diplomatic representatives, in the company of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Holmes Trujillo, who earlier welcomed the copy of the official documents.

The Non-Resident Ambassadors of the Asian countries that assumed their positions come from the Republic of Lao, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Thailand. The protocol ceremony took place this Thursday, at the Casa de Nariño.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand

From 2018 to date, Kesanee Palanuwongse, held the position of Ambassador in Peru. Before that, she worked as Deputy Director of the Protocol Department, General Consul in Shenyang, Deputy Consul in Sydney and Director of the South Pacific Division. Master in Arts. She speaks Thai and English.

The diplomatic relations of Colombia and Thailand were established on January 20, 1979. This year marks 40 years of friendship. The Colombian Embassy in Thailand was reopened in 2013. The Thai Embassy in Peru is concurrent for Colombia.
