On 13 March 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima partnered with Ms. Fátima Sotomayor, a well-known Peruvian influencer, to organize an event promoting Thai cuisine, culture, and tourism in Thailand at Lima Thai Restaurant in Lima. Mr. Kasem Sailueanam, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., presided over the opening ceremony.

During the event, group activities were organized to provide knowledge about Thailand, along with a Thai dance performance by a Thai resident living in Peru. On this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. also provided information about Thailand—particularly about tourism—to the participants. Most attendees were working-age adults, and although some had previously traveled to Thailand, they expressed interest in visiting again due to their impressions of the country and its people.

Ms. Fátima Sotomayor is a well-known Peruvian influencer and content creator recognized for producing budget travel content. She focuses on presenting travel options within Peru and abroad that can be done with modest budgets, making tourism more accessible to her followers. She currently has more than 271,000 followers on Instagram. In the past, Ms. Fátima has traveled to Thailand several times and has creatively shared content about Thailand and Thai tourism, which has increased interest among many Peruvians in visiting Thailand.
