On 26 August 2026, Ms. Ek-on Khunacharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Lima, welcomed and hosted a luncheon for Dr. Somboon Sahasithiwat, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation together with the Thai delegation who visited Lima to attend the “Future of Smart Mobility Workshop” held under the framework of the APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology, and Innovation (PPSTI) between 27-28 August 2026.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador exchanged views on utilizing technology to drive resource-efficient transportation systems and discussed the challenges facing the renewable energy industry. Furthermore, the Royal Thai Embassy had arranged the delegation to meet with three energy research institutions, namely H2 Peru, the Energy Institute of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP Energy Institute), and the National University of Engineering (UNI).
