On 4 December 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima organized activities on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thai Father’s Day “5 December 2020” at the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima. Activities include:

1. At 11.00 hours, His Excellency Sorayut Chasombat, along with Thai communities in Peru and members from the Embassy, joined in a ceremony in tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
2. At 12.00 hours, the Embassy live broadcasted the virtual reception ceremony on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand on the Embassy’s Facebook Page “Embajada del Reino de Tailandia - Royal Thai Embassy Lima”. The live broadcast was comprised of 4 proceedings including (1) the speech by His Excellency Ambassador Chasombat, (2) the compilations of photos showing significant events between Thailand and Peru throughout their 55 years of friendship, (3) demonstration of Thai Dance (Lotus Dance and Rice Dance, and (4) Muay Thai Demonstration (Wai Kru ceremony). 3. At 15.00 hours, His Excellency Ambassador Chasombat, the Thai communities in Peru, and members from the Embassy, jointly arranged daily necessities including products for personal hygiene, disinfectants, food, and medical masks (which was given to the Embassy by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Peru in Khon Kaen province of Thailand) into boxes to later be donated to the elderly care home “Virgen Del Carmen” in San Miguel, Lima.

          Peoples of Thailand celebrate on the 5th of December each year for three auspicious occasions: the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the Day of the Nation, and the Father’s Day. The Embassy would like to thank the Thai communities, the Gopesvara School of Dance and the Peruvian Association of Muay Thai for their collaborations on this very special day.
