For all Thais, the 5^th of December is a special day that marks 3 auspicious occasions. First, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Father of the Nation and a Symbol of Peace and Unity. The second and third are the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Thai Father’s Day.

On this propitious occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima hosted a celebration to commemorate His Majesty the late King’s birthday on 4 December. The event was attended by high officials of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Relations, heads of diplomatic missions, and representatives of the business, academic and media sectors. Attendees enjoyed a Thai buffet, a Muay Thai demonstration, Thai dances, a sampling of imported Thai products, and a choir of Thai exchange students who sang a piece composed and written by His Majesty.
