On 12 July, 2019, Asian diplomats met the historic district, in pursuit of future cooperation projects.

Ambassador Marina Estella Anwar Bey of Indonesia, Ambassador Kesanee Palanuwongse of Thailand and Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban of Malaysia met with the mayor Stephen Haas at the Municipal Palace. The Mayor showed them the historical area of Pueblo Libre, starting at the Plaza Bolívar, where they could enjoy the photographic exhibition “Portraits of Pueblo Libre, Capital of the Bicentennial”.

 

Afterwards they visited church of Santa Maria Magdalena, and the House of the Liberators, located in the National Museum of Archeology, Anthropology and History of Peru.

 

The diplomats expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome, and were inclined to future cooperation for the benefit of the commune.
