VISA APPLICATION AT THE ROYAL THAI EMBASSY IN LIMA
As of January 1, 2025, residents of countries under the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia who wish to apply for a Thai visa must submit their application through the new e-visa platform at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ . Applicants are no longer required to submit their passport or original supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima.
How to apply online:
- Create an account
- Complete the application form
- Upload supporting documents
- Pay the visa fee
- Wait for the visa to be processed
- Receive the e-visa confirmation document via email
*For further information, please read the manual or watch the e-visa instructional video before beginning the application process.
The entire procedure is conducted online, where requirements are specified and a payment link is provided in the system. The process takes approximately 15 business days; once the e-visa application is approved, a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant. Please note that the visa is valid for three months from the date of issuance; therefore, it is recommended to submit your application approximately one month before your travel date to ensure it does not expire.
Visa requirements can also be found on the homepage at https://www.thaievisa.go.th
General requirements:
- Biographical data page of your passport or travel document. (Attach a clear, high-resolution photograph of the passport page containing your personal details.)
- Photograph taken within the last six months (Attach a current, high-resolution photograph with a white background, taken from the front, showing only from head to shoulders; no glasses, shoulders must be covered.)
- Document indicating your current location (e.g., a valid visa, receipts/proof of payment for flight tickets or accommodation, etc.). Attach your national ID card (cédula) or residence visa from Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, or Venezuela, along with a utility bill (electricity, water, internet, mobile phone, etc.) that shows your home address.
- Travel booking confirmation (Attach bookings or confirmations for your departure from your home country, arrival in Thailand, and departure from Thailand—covering the entire round-trip itinerary, arranged in chronological order.)
- Proof of accommodation in Thailand (e.g., a lease agreement or an invitation letter from a resident of Thailand). You may also attach a hotel booking or confirmation, if applicable. An invitation letter from a resident of Thailand must be accompanied by the host’s identification document and visa.
- Financial documents: a balance of no less than 20,000 THB (e.g., bank statements from the last 3 months or an official letter). You must provide statements from a savings or checking account showing a balance equal to or greater than 20,000 THB (or the equivalent in your local currency); credit card statements are not accepted. If you have a travel sponsor, they must provide an invitation letter, their ID, their visa, and their bank statements from the last 3 months.
Important information to note:
- The processing time is up to 15 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays). This means that within these 15 business days, you should see a status update in your visa application dashboard. If you received an email requesting additional documents, please allow an extra 5 business days following the submission of those documents for your visa to be processed.
- The visa fee is non-refundable; please verify all information before submission. Any mismatched information will result in the rejection of the application, as officials cannot edit data entered by the applicant. In such cases, applicants will be required to resubmit their application, and the visa fee will not be refunded.
- According to regulations, the Embassy cannot issue a visa to foreign nationals who are currently in Thailand. All travelers must obtain a visa prior to entering Thailand.
- The Embassy cannot edit or correct personal information.
- Consular officials reserve the right to request additional documentation as they deem necessary, and they also reserve the right to reject any application without providing a reason.
- If an applicant fails to submit the required documents—or any additional documents requested by the Embassy—within 45 days of the initial submission date, the application will be cancelled without prior notice.
ATTENTION:
Once you have obtained your visa, you must print a copy of the e-visa confirmation email sent by the e-visa platform. You will need to present this to the airline and to Thai immigration officials for verification when traveling to Thailand.
Upon arrival, please present:
- A passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining at the time of entry into Thailand.
- Your e-visa.
- An International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever. If, for any reason—such as age or other circumstances—you are unable to receive this vaccine, you must provide a medical certificate in English explaining why you cannot be vaccinated. If the certificate is issued in Spanish, it must be accompanied by a simple (unofficial) English translation.
- Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). As of May 1, 2025, all non-Thai citizens entering Thailand are required to complete the TDAC at https://tdac.immigration.go.th
