On 23 April 2026, Mr. Kasem Sailuenam, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., attended the launching the 8th EXPO PERU LOS ANDES 2026, organized by PROMPERU, the agency responsible for promoting Peru’s exports and tourism, in collaboration with 6 regional governments from the Andean region: Ica, Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, and Junín.
The 8th EXPO PERU LOS ANDES 2026 will take place from 26–29 June 2026 in Huancavelica. The event is a trade fair aimed at promoting the production and service potential of the Andean region to both domestic and international markets. It also seeks to foster regional development in agriculture, livestock, tourism, mining, trade, and manufacturing through an inclusive, participatory, and sustainable approach. The Andean region is a major producer of wine and pisco, and is known for its distinctive and widely recognized products, including avocados, grapes, berries, quinoa, and chia seeds.
On this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. held discussions with the organizers regarding the economic potential of the Adean provinces and possible avenues for cooperation with Thailand in trade, investment, and tourism. He noted that Thailand could play a greater role in promoting development cooperation in the Andean region, particularly in tourism, sustainable development, and rural development.
