On 4 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Carlos Germán Augusto Amézaga Rodríguez, Director-General for Cultural Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, met with Mr. Kasem Sailuenam, Chargé d'affaires a.i., at the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima.  The meeting served as an introductory visit and provided both sides with an opportunity to discuss ways to further enhance Thailand–Peru relations in all dimensions, including trade, investment, academic cooperation, and cultural exchanges, prior to Mr. Rodríguez’s assumption of duties as the new Ambassador of Peru to Thailand.  On 26 May 2026, the Thai Cabinet approved the appointment of Mr. Rodríguez as Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, succeeding H.E. Ms. Cecilia Zunildá Galarreta Bazán.
